Role Description The Payroll Administrator is a full-time, on-site role based in Northern Cape, South Africa. This role is responsible for processing payroll accurately and on schedule, including capturing employee data, calculating earnings, deductions, and benefits, and ensuring compliance with relevant labor and tax regulations. Day-to-day tasks include maintaining payroll records, reconciling payroll reports, resolving payroll queries, and coordinating with HR and finance to support onboarding, terminations, and changes in employment status. The Payroll Administrator will prepare monthly and annual payroll reports, assist with audits, and contribute to continuous improvement of payroll procedures and systems. The role also involves responding promptly and professionally to employee inquiries and supporting internal controls to protect sensitive payroll information.
Qualifications
- Strong payroll processing and administration skills, including data entry accuracy, pay calculations, and reconciliation of payroll reports.
- Knowledge of payroll legislation and compliance requirements, such as tax regulations, statutory deductions, and labor law fundamentals.
- Proficiency with payroll software and related systems, as well as solid skills in Microsoft Excel and other office productivity tools.
- Attention to detail, numerical aptitude, and the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies in payroll data.
- Effective communication and customer service skills to handle employee queries and collaborate with HR and finance teams.
- Strong organizational and time-management abilities to meet payroll deadlines and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Relevant qualification in Accounting, Payroll Administration, Finance, or a related field; prior experience in a payroll or HR support role is highly advantageous.
- Demonstrated integrity and discretion in handling confidential information and maintaining accurate records.
