Summary
We’re seeking an experienced Payroll and Benefits Administrator to support core human resources functions. This role requires hands-on experience with both U.S. and international payroll, 401(k) plan administration, and leave and benefits management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and confident working with data in Excel at a moderate to advanced level.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Payroll & Benefits
Manage and process U.S. and international payroll in partnership with internal and external providers
Ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and international payroll regulations
Administer and reconcile employee benefits programs, including health insurance, 401(k), FSA/HSA, and wellness benefits
Oversee 401(k) plan management, including enrollment, compliance testing, and annual audit preparation
Support payroll and 401(k) audits, ensuring documentation and records are accurate and audit-ready
Respond to employee payroll and benefits questions in a timely and professional manner
Leave & Compliance
Manage employee leave programs including FMLA, parental, personal, and medical leaves
Maintain and update leave documentation and ensure compliance with applicable laws
Handle unemployment claims, coordinating with state agencies and documenting activity
Monitor employee health and safety compliance, including workplace injury reporting and OSHA requirements
General HR Support
Maintain accurate employee records in the HRIS and ensure compliance with company policies and legal standards
Partner with HR leadership on employee lifecycle processes, including onboarding and offboarding
Assist in implementing HR programs and initiatives related to employee engagement, compliance, and performance
Supervisory Responsibilities
No current supervisory responsibilities

Education and/or Experience
3–5 years of HR experience with direct responsibility for payroll and benefits
Experience managing both U.S. and international payroll (preferred)
Working knowledge of 401(k) administration and audits
Solid understanding of federal and state labor laws, including leave management
Experience managing unemployment claims and interacting with third-party providers
Moderate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, data validation)
Experience with an HRIS/payroll system (e.g., ADP, Paylocity, UKG, or similar)
Strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills
Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities with minimal oversight

Microsoft Office, knowledge of systems, software and hardware, including application systems and operating systems. Moderate to advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, VLOOKUP, conditional formatting, data validation)

SHRM-CP or SCP (Preferred)
