PGME Program and Accreditation Coordinator

Purpose: The PGME Program and Accreditation Coordinator supports the planning, implementation, and continuous improvement of accreditation activities and program development for the School of Medicine, with a primary focus on Postgraduate Medical Education (PGME) and the Integrated Community-based Learning Network (ICLN). The role coordinates accreditation processes under CanRAC/CanERA, supports governance and working committees, maintains accreditation documentation, and facilitates the preparation and submission of required materials to accreditation systems.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate PGME accreditation activities, including preparing meeting materials, site review logistics, and tracking action items.
  • Maintain and organize accreditation documentation and ensure compliance with complex accreditation standards.
  • Support governance and working committees by preparing materials, documenting decisions, and following up on deliverables.
  • Conduct research and environmental scans to inform continuous quality improvement and program development.
  • Assist in establishing PGME office operations, program infrastructure, and stakeholder liaison.
  • Coordinate resident lifecycle activities and support continuous program development.
  • Promote decolonization, diversity, equity, and inclusion in medical education.

Qualifications

  • University degree in a relevant field or an equivalent of 4 years of recent experience within the last five years.
  • Three (3) years of experience in project coordination or project management within postgraduate medical education.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail, document verification, and proofreading abilities.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and experience with project management software.
  • Knowledge of Canadian residency accreditation frameworks (CanRAC/CanERA, RCPSC, CFPC) and competency‑based medical education.
  • Familiarity with accreditation management systems such as CanAMS.
  • Cross‑cultural competence and awareness of decolonization, equity, diversity, and inclusion principles.
  • Ability to plan and execute logistics for complex events and support committee processes.
