PMO Project Manager 1 – Finance-Human Resources Portfolio Jobs in Riverton, UT at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints

The PMO Project Manager 1 is an intermediate, professional position that coordinates and manages the planning, producing, and implementing process to:

Create new and revised Church technology products and services for the Finance-Human Resources portfolio.
Projects assigned will be of low complexity and have a limited scope and time frame.
Responsible for seeing projects through from initiation to delivery.
Responsible to plan and direct project schedules while managing budgets/resources and working with responsible Solution Managers, technical employees, and functional personnel associated with these projects.
Support the Elevate project involving the replacement of the Church Financial Information System (CFIS) created in PeopleSoft Finance to the new Elevate Oracle Finance solution.
Assigned to support one or more Solution Managers who have responsibility for different technical aspects of the Elevate project.
Act as a liaison between the PMO and assigned Solution Managers.
Responsible for managing Releases through from initiation to delivery while coordinating responsible Solution Managers, technical employees, and functional personnel associated with the effort.

This role will:

Represent the PMO to portfolio, client, and vendor personnel, ensuring that PMO processes and policies are followed, and that recommendations for improvement are reported back to PMO leadership.
Represent the client to the PMO, portfolio, and vendor, ensuring business needs are being met so the final delivered product represents the best solution for the client organization (Finance/HR).
Represent the portfolio to Church business and vendor personnel to ensure best planning/development standards are being followed while being delivered within reasonable (and agreed upon) timeframes.

This individual works with divine guidance to provide or support technology that furthers the mission of the Church and reflects the eternal impact of the gospel.

Assists with/leads the day-to-day technical project work of the team leveraging agile methodologies.

Forecasts, mitigates, and manages risks, actions, issues, and decisions.

Develops and executes project plans that ensures all deliverables are developed and released on time and within budget while maintaining the highest quality possible.

Generates weekly reports complete with metrics showing the status of each assigned project/area of responsibility.

Aligns and follows standard processes to assure quality and consistency of the product.

Works with the Solution Manager/Product Manager/PMO to ensure risks are identified, logged, and appropriately addressed.

Bachelor’s Degree in related field or equivalent professional experience

Three years in a discipline that supports the management of technical projects, two years of which must include project team experience.

Broad technology background with understanding of IT industry best practices for Project Management.

Demonstrated expertise in building and maintaining productive working relationships.

Proven success in leading project teams.

Exceptional Exceptional written and verbal communications skills.

Demonstrated record of aligning with an organizational strategic vision.

This job operates in a professional office environment: to successfully perform the essential functions of the job there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using computer monitors/equipment.

Preferred:

Working towards PMP Certification or other recognized project management certification.

Scrum certifications.
