The Capital Legal Division consists of Agency attorneys and administrative support staff. It oversees matters related to Agency Capital and Construction procurement contracts, consultant service contracts, including contract administration, and provides legal advice to staff at the Olmsted Center and throughout the Agency related to construction and construction-related matters.

Major Responsibilities

Serve as the Legal Administrator for the Capital Projects Legal Division under general direction, supporting attorneys and the division’s daily operations.

Update multiple Excel logs/tracking sheets regularly.

Organize, maintain, and update the division’s digital files.

Act as the liaison on intra-agency and interagency matters.

Track contract cycle times in procurement.

Handle special projects for the division.

Olmsted Center, Queens

Minimum Qualifications

Baccalaureate degree from an accredited college and two years of experience in community work or related activities; or

High school diploma or equivalent and six years of related experience; or

Equivalent education/experience, with at least one year of experience as described above.

Preferred Skills

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Familiarity with NYC Parks Capital division or capital processes.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Strong customer service, attention to detail, and multitasking abilities.

Ability to handle confidential matters.

Strong computer and database skills.

Procurement or construction experience is a plus.
