Project Officer Jobs in Limpsfield, UK at Tandridge District Council

Position: Project Officer Housing – 1 Year Fixed Term Contract
Location: Limpsfield

Tandridge District Council, The Council Offices, 8 Station Road East, Oxted, Surrey, RH8 0BT

We are looking for a proactive and highly organised Project Officer (Housing) to support the delivery of key projects and transformation activity across our Housing Service. This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in shaping how services evolve as part of Local Government Reorganisation (LGR) and wider service improvement work.

The Role

As our Project Officer, you will provide essential project, organisational and administrative support to the Head of Housing and the wider service. You will help coordinate and track a range of work streams, ensuring that transformation, LGR activity and housing‑related projects run smoothly and effectively.

  • Project & LGR coordination – supporting planning, documentation, progress tracking, risk management and cross‑council liaison.
  • Data and reporting – gathering, validating and presenting information for LGR, statutory returns, service redesign and strategic planning.
  • Operational support – diary management, meeting organisation, correspondence handling and preparation of briefing materials.
  • Document and information management – drafting reports, maintaining project records and ensuring compliance with data governance requirements.
  • Service improvement – reviewing processes, conducting research, supporting audits and contributing to performance monitoring.
  • Cross‑service collaboration – working with colleagues across Housing, corporate project teams, partner authorities and external agencies.
  • This is a varied and fast‑paced role where no two days are the same. You will be a key point of contact for enquiries relating to Housing projects and LGR activity, helping ensure that actions, milestones and deadlines are met.

Who we’re looking for

We are seeking someone who brings strong organisational skills, excellent communication and a proactive, solution‑focused approach. You will thrive in a busy environment, be comfortable managing multiple priorities, and enjoy working collaboratively with colleagues and partners.

Requirements

  • Experience in project and administrative roles.
  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence using MS Office and digital tools.
  • A keen eye for detail and a methodical approach.
  • The ability to quickly understand new areas of work and conduct research.
  • GCSEs in English and Maths (A‑C) as a minimum; A‑levels or equivalent desirable.
  • Experience in local government or social housing is beneficial but not essential.

Benefits

When you join us your expertise, skills and experience will be valued, and your career development will be our priority. We offer membership and contributions towards the Local Government Pension Scheme, flexible working (up to three days a week from home), flexi‑time, payment of a relevant professional subscription and access to a discounted health scheme.
