Role Description The Pupil will work full time on-site in Georgetown, supporting lawyers across a broad range of commercial and contentious matters. Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting legal research, drafting and reviewing legal documents, preparing case bundles, and assisting with client meetings and court hearings under supervision. The role involves helping with due diligence, document management, and case administration across various practice areas. The Pupil will be expected to learn and apply legal technology tools, maintain accurate records, and contribute to internal knowledge-sharing initiatives. This position offers structured training, close mentorship from experienced practitioners, and exposure to complex commercial work in a collaborative environment.
Qualifications

  • Strong legal research, analytical thinking, and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail in reviewing cases and legislation.
  • Proficiency in legal drafting, written communication, and clear, concise documentation of advice and case updates.
  • Effective time management, organization, and ability to handle multiple matters while meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact respectfully with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders.
  • Comfort with legal technology, document management systems, and basic office software (e.g., word processing and spreadsheets).
  • Completed law degree from a recognized institution and eligibility to undertake pupillage in Malaysia.
  • Demonstrated interest in commercial law and at least one of the firm’s key practice areas through academic work, internships, or moot participation.
  • High ethical standards, integrity, and commitment to learning, with willingness to receive feedback and grow within the firm.
