Job Summary
Matono Salon is a casual high-end hair salon located in the heart of Greenwich Village. We’re looking for a warm, professional, and reliable Receptionist / Guest Services Coordinator to join our team. As the first point of contact for our clients, you’ll play an essential role in creating a welcoming, calm, and elevated experience. This role requires excellent communication, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
Greet clients warmly and professionally, creating a positive first impression
Answer and manage phone calls using a multi-line phone system with great phone etiquette
Schedule appointments and manage the salon calendar
Assist with product sales, client checkouts, and occasional inventory tasks
Maintain a clean, organized, and beautiful reception area
Support the team with light administrative tasks (filing, data entry, confirmations, etc.)
Use software (training provided) such as QuickBooks for light financial tasks if needed
Communicate effectively with clients and the salon team to ensure smooth operations
Requirements
Previous salon, spa, hospitality, or customer service experience preferred
Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask under pressure
Polished, friendly, and professional demeanor
Experience with appointment software and phones is a plus
Familiarity with QuickBooks is helpful but not required
Must be punctual, detail-oriented, and great with people
Schedule
Part-time: Tuesday to Saturday (approximately 10 AM – 6 PM)
Saturday availability is required
