Job Description
The Student Support Coordinator II supports other staff by performing task-oriented duties while providing clerical, analytical, administrative, and operational support under general supervision. Provides information to students and parents about financial aid functions, timelines, and eligibility, triaging students to appropriate staff as needed. Provides excellent customer service and communicates effectively with internal and external customers regarding regulations, policies, and procedures as outlined by the United States Department of Education and MU School of Medicine.
As a member of the Student Affairs team, the office actively participates in a range of services that support academic admissions, course registration, financial aid, and orientation for both current and prospective university students. Staff are dedicated to advising applicants and their families on financial aid options and broader financial literacy planning to help them make informed decisions about their futures.
Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Aid:
• Retrieve and input information for financial aid processing; assist with processing and reconciliation of financial aid disbursements.
• Collect and prepare application materials and documentation for the Scholarship Committee.
• Advise students and families on eligibility, timelines, and institutional policies; communicate with students and parents in person, by phone, and via email to resolve issues and provide guidance.
• Ensure compliance with institutional, state, and federal financial aid regulations; maintain accurate records and follow established procedures.
• Maintain confidentiality and uphold professional standards in all student interactions and records management.
Registrar functions:
• Prepares and reconciles a variety of reports, business correspondence, records, and/or other related documents such as:
o Update, maintain student records
o Review of Academic Calendar
o Step Exam requirements
o Assist with updating AAMC Student Record System
o Monitors office emails and calendars
o Review of enrollment and grade reporting between systems
o Assist with collection of health insurance & student billing accounts
Student recruitment via financial aid offers & back up contact for Financial Aid Director and Registrar and other duties as assigned when needed.

Minimum Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree preferred
2 years of experience preferred
Experience working with financial aid and enrollment.
Experience with People Soft or similar student information system.
Anticipated Hiring Range
Salary Range: $26.00 – $30.00 hourly
