Position Summary
Support and maintain regulatory compliance of Valiram’s products and operational items across assigned markets, covering cosmetics, food & beverage (F&B), fashion and luxury goods, electronics, general consumer products, and store or operational non-merchandise items.
The role supports the Regulatory Affairs Manager in managing regulatory requirements throughout the product lifecycle, including market entry and pre-compliance assessments, product registration and notification, import and customs requirements, product labelling and promotional compliance, post-market compliance, and regulatory monitoring. The role works closely with internal and external stakeholders and regulatory authorities to ensure products are compliant with applicable regulations and can be legally imported, marketed, and distributed across the respective markets.
Key Areas of Responsibilities
1. Regulatory Submission & Product Compliance
- Manage regulatory compliance activities for assigned Valiram markets, including Singapore, Malaysia, Philippines, Vietnam, Australia/New Zealand, Hong Kong, Macau, Thailand, and Indonesia, as assigned.
- Prepare, compile, submit, and maintain regulatory applications for new and existing products, including registrations, notifications, renewals, variations, permits, and other regulatory submissions.
- Conduct pre-compliance assessments for new products and identify import restrictions, regulatory requirements, and potential compliance risks prior to importation, registration, launch, or distribution.
- Review product formulations, ingredients, artwork, labelling, claims, tariff classifications, and other documentations to assess regulatory compliance and product registration or permit application.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date regulatory trackers and databases covering regulatory dossiers, product approvals, permits, certificates, and compliance records, ensuring timely renewal and maintenance of regulatory approvals.
2. Regulatory Authority & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Support responses to regulatory queries, requests for information, and clarifications from government authorities and regulatory agencies.
- Liaise with relevant regulatory bodies and follow up on regulatory submissions, approvals, permits, and other regulatory matters.
- Coordinate with Logistics, Merchandising, Buying, Supply Chain, Marketing, Product Development, and other relevant teams to ensure regulatory requirements are addressed before shipment, importation, and product launch.
- Support regulatory requirements involving CITES, MAQIS, electronics, chemicals, and other regulated products as required.
- Provide day-to-day regulatory guidance to internal and external stakeholders on product, importation, labelling, and compliance requirements.
3. Post-Market Surveillance & Compliance
- Support the Regulatory Affairs Manager in maintaining post-market surveillance and ongoing product compliance processes across assigned markets.
- Support regulatory audits, inspections, market surveillance activities, and internal compliance reviews.
- Assist in implementing corrective and preventive actions arising from regulatory findings.
4. Regulatory Intelligence & Process Improvement
- Monitor regulatory developments, legislative changes, enforcement trends, and industry requirements across assigned markets.
- Assess and communicate relevant regulatory changes and their potential impact on Valiram products and operations.
- Support the Regulatory Affairs Manager in maintaining consistent regulatory processes, workflows, and compliance controls across assigned markets.
- Identify process gaps and support initiatives to improve regulatory efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
5. Other Responsibilities
- Support regional and cross-functional regulatory projects and initiatives as assigned.
- Perform other regulatory and compliance-related duties as required by the business.
- Conduct all duties in accordance with Valiram’s Code of Business Conduct, compliance policies, and applicable laws and regulations.

- Project & Time Management – Ability to manage multiple projects, brands, and regulatory requirements across several markets, ensuring timelines and compliance milestones are met.
- Education: Minimum a Bachelor’s degree in science-related field or equivalent.
- Experience: Preferably with 1-2 years working experience in regulatory affairs or regulatory management capacity, ideally in cosmetics, F&B, and multi-category retail environment, with exposure to regional or multi-market regulatory requirements.
- Other: Proficient in English and Bahasa Malaysia (written and spoken).
