We are seeking an experienced Retirement Plan Administrator with a strong background in administering U.S. retirement and employee benefit plans.
The selected candidate will be responsible for managing their own portfolio of clients, providing comprehensive support in the administration of 401(k) Plans, Profit Sharing Plans, and Cash Balance Plans, while ensuring regulatory compliance, service excellence, and accuracy throughout the process.
What You’ll Do:
- Oversee the full administration of assigned retirement plans.
- Manage a portfolio of clients of varying sizes.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for Plan Sponsors, Investment Advisors, CPAs, Actuaries, and Vendors.
- Coordinate processes related to Cash Balance Plans and Defined Benefit Plans as needed.
- Conduct compliance and nondiscrimination testing, including: ADP/ACP Testing, 401(a)(4) Testing, Coverage Testing, Top Heavy Testing, New Comparability Testing
- Calculate employer contributions.
- Manage forfeiture allocations.
- Perform Required Minimum Distribution (RMD) calculations.
- Execute Trust Accounting processes.
- Conduct asset reconciliations.
- Verify timely deposits of employee deferrals.
- Prepare and file IRS Forms 5500, 5330, and 8955.
- Guide clients through the annual data collection and processing cycle.
- Manage annual processing schedules and timelines.
- Update information and activities within the CATTS system.
- Support participant loan and distribution processes.
- Work with industry providers such as American Funds, John Hancock, Nationwide, OneAmerica, Principal, MassMutual, Transamerica, 401k Direct, and 401k Pro.
✅ Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in Retirement Plan Administration, 401(k) Administration, Employee Benefits, Pension Administration, or related fields.
- Experience administering U.S. retirement plans.
- Ability to independently manage client relationships and plan administration.
- Experience analyzing Census Data, Eligibility, Vesting, and Compliance Testing.
- Strong knowledge of: ADP/ACP Testing, Top Heavy Testing, Coverage Testing, 401(a)(4) Testing, Trust Accounting, Asset Reconciliation, Contribution Calculations
- Experience preparing and filing IRS forms.
