Skilled Administrative Officers (AO) are crucial to the support of operations of Maritime Reserve Units (MRU). The primary function of MRUs is to deliver trained Reservists as elements of Operational Capability at Readiness as mandated by Navy Command.
Civil Servants working in Defence, deliver integral support to the Business objectives of Commander Maritime Reserves (COMMARRES). We form part of the Operational Delivery Profession, offering outstanding and exciting development opportunities. We are the face of the Civil Service within the MOD as frontline Operational Professionals to Royal Naval Reservists. We proactively support and react to the requirements of colleagues, partners, and senior personnel to enable the day-to-day administration of MRUs.

This position is advertised at 37 hours per week.
Job DescriptionThe Administrative Officer reports directly to the Support Manager and will provide general administrative duties to Maritime Reserve Units within the region, which will include but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Working with a small team, provide general administrative support to Maritime Reserves personnel and colleagues within the region.
Process monthly payroll for Maritime Reserves personnel, producing reports and responding to queries as required.
As an Appraisals Administrator for Maritime Reserves personnel, support the Appraisals Coordinator ensuring the timely completion of performance reports.
Provide Information Management support in accordance with policy.
Provide Information Technology support to colleagues and Maritime Reserves personnel in relation to system access requests and ordering equipment.
