Job Summary

The Scheduling Coordinator:

  • Arranges procedure scheduling and pre-admission testing.
  • Schedules patient in appropriate department.
  • Verifies all demographic information and confirms date, time and location of appt for the patient and enters intra procedural data into computer.
  • Registers and schedules patients.
  • Provides customer service and clerical support.
  • Accepts, records and verifies insurance information.
  • Processes preauthorization requests, collects copays and account balance payments.
  • Scans documents into EMR and other administrative tasks related to the efficient operations of the department.
  • Ensures contact with patients, families, the community, vendors, coworkers and physicians are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner.

Qualifications

Education Requirements

  • High School Diploma – OR – GED – OR – Relevant experience may be considered in lieu of education

Experience

  • Prior scheduling experience in healthcare setting preferred

Certification and Licensure

  • BLS Certification
