What you do:
You will lead Allianz Life’s compensation strategy and operations, ensuring understanding of evolving employee needs and market conditions. This role is important to maintaining market competitiveness for Allianz Life and supported Operating Entities. The Senior Director will lead proactive planning, design, and execution of annual performance management, ensuring a positive experience for employees and leaders. Additionally, you will represent supported North American entities in compensation programs, leading local efforts together with global projects. This includes overseeing sales compensation strategies and ensuring their understanding of our goals and market trends. We are looking for a leader with an understanding of compensation practices, and the ability to navigate complex organizational structures. The Senior Director Compensation will help shape the future of Allianz Life’s compensation strategy and ensuring its success in a competitive market. You have expertise in sales compensation, contributing to the development of plans that achieve our goals. You will report into the Chief People& Culture Officer.

Compensation Strategy Development: Develop and implement compensation strategies that support our goals, while evaluating the effectiveness of existing programs to ensure market competitiveness for all supported Operating Entities. Lead the design and management of sales compensation plans, ensuring they incentivize and reward desired sales behaviors and outcomes.
Leadership and Team Development: Lead a team of compensation professionals, providing coaching, mentoring, and support to foster a cohesive and engaging team environment. Develop leadership capabilities within the team to provide a pipeline of future leaders.
Project Leadership: Oversee and participate in compensation related projects at local, regional, and global levels. Ensure that compensation support is provided to HR and business projects.
Partner Engagement: Build partnerships with stakeholders across the organization to ensure understanding and collaboration in compensation strategies and programs. Represent Allianz Life at Compensation Committee and other governance meetings and bodies.
Performance Management: Lead the design and proactive execution of annual performance and compensation processes.
Utilization of artificial intelligence tools and resources (e.g. generative AI).

What you bring:

10+ years of experience working in a matrixed local and global organization
Experience succeeding in an evolving environment of change
Well-developed industry knowledge
Experience developing partnerships with partners
Experience leading, developing, and delivering project
Prior experience managing teams and developing talent
Experience designing and implementing sales compensation plansBachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
You must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and will not require immigration sponsorship for visa status now or in the future (e.g. H1-B, L-1, TN). If you are on CPT/OPT, you are ineligible due to the need for future immigration sponsorship.

Base Salary Range $141,000 – $200,000

Actual base salary may vary based on factors such as relevant experience, qualifications, internal equity of peers, and geographic location. In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual incentive program.
