Job Description:
The Department of Chemical Engineering at the University of Florida is seeking a part-time Student Assistant to support the facilities staff team. This position provides hands-on experience in facilities operations and logistics within an academic setting.
Compensation: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Responsibilities:
Assist with moving furniture and equipment within department spaces.
Support lab cleanouts and organization efforts.
Perform deliveries and errands, including picking up or dropping off supplies and packages between buildings.
Greet guests, provide directions, and escort visitors to meetings as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned to assist the facilities team.
Work Schedule:
Weekdays between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Flexible scheduling based on availability)
Minimum Requirements:
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and climb flights of stairs as needed.
You must be a University of Florida student in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Strong communication skills and ability to interact professionally.
Attention to detail and willingness to take initiative.
Ability to work independently and manage tasks with minimal supervision.
