The Division of Racing is looking for a Temporary Licensing Specialist (Administrative Assistant III) to assist with the application process for the Racing Division. Responsibilities include accepting and processing applications, receiving payments, maintaining records, and providing customer service. Ideal candidates will have experience working with diverse customer groups in licensing or regulatory environments.
Key Responsibilities
Establish procedures for receiving and processing ownership applications.
Ensure applications are complete, fees are correct, and data is accurately entered.
Prepare reference letters, conduct applicant checks, generate renewal notices, and issue licenses post-approval.
Develop standards for scanning and indexing license correspondence and ensure compliance through review.
Perform license application processing, background checks, and interviews to assess applicant suitability.
Manage disciplinary actions and ensure accurate database updates and documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Three years of general clerical experience, including customer service, data entry, use of office equipment and software, and document review. Alternatively, a combination of education and experience equivalent to three years in related fields such as Business Administration or Public Administration.
Preferred Skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Gmail, and Google Applications.
Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
