Responsibilities:
– Greet and check-in clients and their pets, ensuring a positive and welcoming experience
– Schedule appointments and maintain the appointment calendar
– Answer phone calls, emails, and other inquiries from clients
– Assist with filling out necessary paperwork and obtaining patient information
– Maintain accurate records of patient information, medical history, and treatments
– Prepare examination rooms for appointments, ensuring cleanliness and organization
– Assist veterinarians with various procedures as needed
– Handle financial transactions, including collecting payments and processing invoices
– Provide basic information to clients regarding pet care, vaccinations, and medications
– Daily cleaning and kennel work
– This list is not inclusive of all duties
Qualifications: (not required, but preferred)
– Previous experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal-related field is preferred
– Knowledge of veterinary terminology, animal physiology, and veterinary critical care is a plus
– Familiarity with laboratory procedures, animal catheterization, and aseptic technique is beneficial
– Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with clients and team members
– Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining records and scheduling appointments
– Ability to handle cats and dogs of all sizes and temperaments safely and confidently
– Proficiency in computer systems for scheduling appointments, maintaining records, and processing payments
Note: Equine experience or pet grooming experience is not required for this position.
