Job Overview
We are seeking a friendly and organized Welcome Center Administrator for our large, dynamic downtown church. This role is essential in providing exceptional service and support to our visitors. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the front desk, assisting with administrative tasks, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all guests. Responsibilities

1. Reception:

Greet people and provide needed assistance by answering the phones and door of the Welcome Center in a professional and friendly manner.

Receive and deliver mail and packages to the Church Administrative Assistant for disbursement.

Issue bus, visitor and parking passes as needed and according to church policies.

2. Volunteer Coordinator:

Maintain a volunteer schedule for Welcome Center and administrative volunteers.

This includes developing a system for scheduling volunteers, and finding replacements when volunteers are unable to make a scheduled shift to ensure coverage. Also scheduling extra volunteers as needed to complete large mailings and cover time off for others in the administrative department.

Work with the Executive Assistant and Church Administrative Assistant to support volunteers, answering their questions and keeping them supplied with work to do.

Recruit new volunteers through our Engage program.

3. Attendance:

Enter all names and contact information for those that attend all worship services into our attendance system in a timely manner or ensure volunteers cover this task accurately.

4. Other:

Other administrative work as needed.

A willingness to shift job responsibilities and learn new skills with the changing needs of the administrative department over time.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with a friendly demeanor, eager to serve a variety of people.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Proficiency with software such as Microsoft 365 and Google suite, and a high level of comfort learning new technology.

A team mindset as part of the administrative department, helping our ministries thrive and supporting the mission of FCUMC: To make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Experience in an administrative setting, with multi-line phones preferred.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $28,000.00 – $32,000.00 per year
