Summary

Updates and maintains Community Supervision case information, answer and direct client inquiries, and assist the Community Supervision Counselors by processing mail-in reports.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Greets visitors, directs them to appropriate staff and answers routine inquiries.
  • Opens, sorts, processes and distributes incoming mail and other documents. Processes outgoing mail.
  • Opens cases in the Community Supervision case management computer system, checks for duplicate cases, and assesses cases to determine the type of case and validity and completeness of information.
  • Researches and requests missing information or documents.
  • Enters and retrieves information using Community Supervision case management, the child support case information in the master file, and the OAG computer system TXCSES.
  • Monitors the child support master file and other computer databases to identify new or update locate information. Verifies location and employment information using prescribed methods.
  • Performs word processing of routine pleadings, correspondence and other legal and administrative documents. Distributes or files documents as appropriate.
  • Prepares routine or periodic reports.
  • Responds to routine telephone inquiries concerning child support and visitation probation cases. Provides case status and fee payment information.
  • Maintains the file/copy room which includes pulling and returning case files and filing documents in case files as appropriate.
  • Documents all actions taken.
  • Performs all other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One (1) year of full-time general office or closely related experience.
  • Thirty credit hours from an accredited college or university may substitute for required experience.

Physical Demands and Work Environment & Other Requirements

While performing the duties of this position, the incumbent is regularly required to bend, carry, climb, keyboard, kneel, lift below the waist, lift between waist and shoulder, lift overhead, lift to the side/twist, reach, reach overhead, perform repetitive tasks, see color, sit, squat, stand, stoop, talk, use his/her hands, and work with others. Potential for violence due to nature of domestic casework. Arrests are made throughout the day in the office.
