JCA Personnel has been retained by Onvida Health to lead the nationwide recruitment effort for this important senior leadership position. Onvida Health is seeking an accomplished, forward-thinking Administrative Director of Revenue Cycle to lead 180 FTEs in Patient Financial Services and Patient Access for one of the largest and most important healthcare organizations in southwestern Arizona.

Onvida Health is a nonprofit health system anchored by a 430-bed acute-care hospital and supported by 45 outpatient clinics, two emergency departments – including a freestanding emergency department – and an expanding medical group. The organization brings together more than 4,000 employees and approximately 500 medical providers serving Yuma County and the surrounding region.

As the only full-service acute-care hospital between Phoenix and San Diego, Onvida Health plays an essential role in a growing and highly diverse service area of more than 200,000 residents.

Reporting to the Vice President of Revenue Cycle, the Administrative Director will provide strategic and operational leadership for Patient Financial Services and Patient Access (Authorization, referrals, and HIM are not under the director). The Administrative Director will be accountable for the financial, operational, quality and service performance of these functions while developing leaders, improving processes and supporting the broader strategic objectives of Onvida Health.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced revenue cycle leader to influence the performance of a substantial, integrated health system. The successful candidate will inherit a highly visible leadership role with the authority to evaluate existing practices, standardize workflows, strengthen accountability and implement meaningful operational improvements.

· Provide strategic and operational leadership for Patient Financial Services and Patient Access.

· Establish financial and operational plans aligned with organizational budgets, performance targets and strategic goals.

· Monitor departmental volumes, referrals, payer trends, denials, underpayments, collections and other key performance indicators.

· Improve billing and collection performance while resolving complex internal, payer and patient-account issues.

· Analyze initial denials and underpayments to identify root causes and improve reimbursement.

· Strengthen front-end revenue cycle performance, including registration accuracy, insurance verification, financial counseling, patient estimates and point-of-service collections.

· Improve and report on patient access metrics such as check-in wait times, registration work queues, patient satisfaction and estimates completed.

· Maintain compliance with CMS requirements, governmental regulations, payer rules and organizational policies.

· Develop rigorous quality and performance-improvement programs that increase efficiency, consistency and customer service.

· Standardize processes across departments and technology platforms while maintaining a detailed understanding of critical workflows.

· Identify opportunities to contain costs and improve the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of revenue cycle operations.

· Partner with clinical, financial, operational, technology and patient-experience leaders to remove barriers and improve service delivery.

· Lead, mentor and hold accountable a team of directors, managers and supervisors.

· Assess staffing requirements, succession needs and leadership competencies across the areas of responsibility.

· Create an open, collaborative and performance-driven culture in which employees are empowered to improve results.

· Communicate revenue cycle strategy clearly to senior leadership, physicians and other key stakeholders.

· Support community outreach and organizational initiatives that improve access to care.

Required

· High school diploma or equivalent.

· At least 10 years of progressive management experience in healthcare revenue cycle.

· Significant leadership experience encompassing both Patient Access and Patient Financial Services.

· Demonstrated expertise in billing, collections, reimbursement, denials, underpayments and payer performance.

· Strong knowledge of CMS requirements, governmental regulations, third-party payer requirements and healthcare billing compliance.

· Experience leading directors, managers, supervisors and multidisciplinary teams.

· Proven success improving financial, operational, quality and patient-service outcomes.

· Strong analytical, strategic-planning, communication and change-management capabilities.

Preferred

· Bachelor’s degree or higher in healthcare administration, business administration, finance or a related field.

· Senior revenue cycle leadership experience within a hospital, health system or similarly complex healthcare organization.

· Experience standardizing and improving processes across multiple departments, facilities or patient-accounting environments.

· Success developing leaders and building a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement.
