Job Purpose
To assist the Head of the Warehouse Management Unit in managing the warehouse for Rapid Bus, and to provide leadership, planning, technical direction, communication, and coaching skills to ensure safe, high-quality, and cost-effective warehouse management.
Key Accountabilities
- Assist in overseeing the operation of the warehouse/store, including ordering, receiving, stocking, processing, and distribution of materials;
- Support the Head of Unit in ensuring workplace health and safety requirements are met and help maintain the security of the building and stock;
- Aid in planning the arrangement of inventory within the warehouse and organizing special requirements of inventory;
- Help ensure productivity targets are met and support the maintenance of computerized administration and automated storage and retrieval systems;
- Assist in managing teams of workers and handle personnel issues such as recruitment, training, promotion, disciplinary actions, and remuneration of staff;
- Motivate and coach staff to attain the skills required for their job tasks;
- Support the delivery and fulfilment of objectives and directions from operations;
- Help keep stock control systems and physical inventories up to date and assist in planning for future requirements;
- Brief team leaders on the issues for the particular day and provide support as needed;
- Visit end users to monitor the quality of service they are receiving and report back to the Head of Unit.;
- Establish and maintain designated work areas, ensuring they are orderly and safe. Arrange for repairs and replacements of machinery, tools, fixtures, and equipment as needed;
- Assist in establishing and maintaining inventory control systems for all materials, keeping inventory current at all times;
- Any other responsibilities which may be assigned by HOD, HOS and HOU from time to time.
Qualifications, Skills & Knowledge
- Minimum Diploma in any discipline.
- Minimum five (5) years of working experience.
- Technical skills and an aptitude for ICT – most modern warehouse.
- Proficient in SAP (MM module), CMMS (Trapeze) and Microsoft Outlook 360.
