Role Description The BSS and Data Analyst role is a full-time, on-site position based in Port Moresby. The role focuses on managing and analyzing data within Business Support Systems (BSS) to support billing, customer management, service provisioning, and reporting. Daily responsibilities include collecting, validating, and interpreting large datasets from multiple systems, creating dashboards and reports for internal stakeholders, and identifying trends and insights to support operational and strategic decisions. The BSS and Data Analyst will collaborate with technical, finance, and commercial teams to improve data quality, streamline business processes, and support new product and service launches. The role also involves documenting data flows, ensuring data integrity and security, and contributing to the continuous improvement of analytics tools and methods within the organization.
Qualifications
- Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience in data analytics to interpret complex datasets and support data-driven decisions.
- Proficiency in statistics and data modeling to design, evaluate, and optimize analytical models, forecasts, and performance metrics.
- Effective communication skills to present findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders and to collaborate across teams.
- Experience working with Business Support Systems (BSS), billing platforms, CRM, or other telecom/ICT business systems is highly desirable.
- Hands-on experience with data visualization and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or similar) and solid skills in SQL and Excel.
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong attention to detail, ability to manage multiple tasks, and commitment to data accuracy, integrity, and confidentiality.
- Experience in the ICT or telecommunications sector in Papua New Guinea or similar markets is an advantage.
