DUTIES:

Reporting to the Supervisor of Child Care Subsidy or designate, this position will be responsible for completing applications for child care subsidy assistance; Documenting and verifying information; Making decisions as to eligibility for child care subsidy; Maintaining, organizing and updating on a regular basis, a subsidy caseload. Ensuring that legislative requirements are met and quality customer service is provided; identifying customer needs and making appropriate community referrals; Develop and maintain a good rapport with customers and other staff members. Will perform Occupational Health & Safety duties as outlined in the Corporation’s Health and Safety Program. Will perform other related duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Must have a three (3) year post-secondary school Degree in Social Sciences or Social Work or Ontario Ministry of Education equivalency;

Must have over one (1) year of experience in a Social Services setting;

Must be a mature person who can demonstrate sensitivity to customer needs and who has a good knowledge of Social Services and/or Early Childhood Education;

Experience working with direct delivery of child care considered an asset:

Ability to work in a computerized environment with operating knowledge and training in SAMS and OCCMS considered an asset;

The physical demands analysis associated with this job indicates a sedentary level of work
