Role Description

We are looking for an organised and detail‑focused Commercial Administrator to join our Commercial Team. This role provides vital administrative and financial support across contracts, subcontractors, payments, and commercial reporting.

You will work closely with the Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor, Project Managers, and Finance, helping to ensure commercial processes run smoothly and accurately. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administration skills who wants to build a career in a commercial or construction related environment.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial & Financial Support

  • Assist with applications for payment, invoicing, and cost reporting
  • Support monthly subcontractor payment runs
  • Raise and manage purchase orders (POs)
  • Manage EPT sheets
  • Check and process supplier invoices
  • Maintain accurate commercial and financial records

Contract & Document Control

  • Maintain registers for contracts, subcontracts, and variations
  • Track key contractual documents and deadlines
  • Ensure documentation complies with company procedures and commercial check sheet
  • Manage and maintain electronic and hard copy filing systems
  • Manage folder structures in line with company requirement’s

Liaison & Coordination

  • Act as a point of contact between commercial, finance, and site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers
  • Respond to commercial queries and correspondence
  • Assist with meeting coordination and prepare minutes where required

Reporting & Systems

  • Produce commercial reports using Excel
  • Update internal systems with accurate cost, timesheet, and contract data
  • Support audits and internal compliance checks

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous experience in an administrative or commercial support role
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication skills

Desirable

  • Experience in construction, engineering, maintenance, or a similar sector
  • Understanding of commercial or financial processes
  • Familiarity with NEC contracts or similar forms of contract
