About This Role
Walker Design is a boutique architecture and interior design firm based in Orlando, Florida, delivering high-quality design across commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and mixed-use sectors. We are a lean, driven team that holds design integrity, client relationships, and operational excellence to the highest standard. We are growing deliberately and looking for the right person to help us do it right.
We are seeking an experienced Director of Operations to oversee the day-to-day execution of the firm and serve as a trusted operational partner to the President. This is a hands-on leadership role in a boutique studio environment, not a corporate management position. The right person understands how design and construction projects actually run, can build and maintain practical systems without burdening creative work, and is equally comfortable in a client meeting, a project debrief, and a spreadsheet.
You will translate the firm’s vision into executable plans, provide clear visibility into project performance, staffing, and financials, and protect the culture, profitability, and design quality that define Walker Design.
Requirements
- Proven experience in operations management with a strong background in supervising teams and leading large-scale projects.
- Must have experience prior in architecture/construction or interior design. Very much preferred to fully understand this role.
- Demonstrated expertise in strategic planning, change management, and process improvement methodologies.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams, foster collaboration, and influence senior leadership.
- Excellent management skills with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial oversight.
- Familiarity with business development strategies and program management principles.
- Exceptional communication skills to articulate vision, and drive organizational change.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field; advanced degrees or relevant certifications are a plus. Join us as our Director of Operations to lead transformative initiatives. Pay: $55,000.00 – $120,000.00 per year
