About the Role:
The Human Resources Director is a strategic and hands-on role responsible for driving the organization’s human resources vision while overseeing and handling the day-to-day HR functions. This individual will lead talent acquisition, employee relations, compliance, performance management, and cultural initiatives, ensuring that our workplace remains engaging, equitable, and compliant. The ideal candidate is both a big-picture thinker and someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves to execute plans effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and execute a comprehensive HR strategy that aligns with business goals and fosters a positive workplace culture.
Analyze workforce trends and implement solutions to address current and future talent needs.
Partner with senior leadership to integrate HR initiatives with the organization’s mission and strategic priorities.
Drive diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB) efforts through intentional planning and execution.
Hands-On Execution
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention efforts, directly engaging in hiring when necessary.
Lead the development and facilitation of training programs to support professional growth and compliance.
Serve as a trusted resource for employee relations, handling conflicts, investigations, and concerns with professionalism and care.
Audit and refine HR systems (Paylocity), policies, and procedures to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
HR Leadership & Compliance
Manage performance management, benefits administration, and workforce development initiatives.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, mitigating risks proactively.
Develop and implement policies that reflect HR best practices while supporting a strong ethical foundation.
Conduct internal audits and coordinate with regulators when necessary to maintain compliance.
Cultural Development & Employee Engagement
Champion employee engagement, recognition, and morale-building programs to foster a supportive work environment.
Model and promote a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Establish and lead initiatives that enhance workplace satisfaction and professional development.
Requirements:
What you Bring:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
SHRM-SCP, SPHR, or equivalent HR certification strongly preferred.
5+ years of experience in a dual strategic and operational HR leadership role.
Strong understanding of employment laws, compliance requirements, and HR best practices.
Proven success in both developing HR strategy and hands-on execution of initiatives.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lead, mentor, and influence at all organizational levels.
