Job Summary:

Waldmann Construction, Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized HR Specialist to support our human resources functions. This role will be instrumental in managing various HR processes, ensuring compliance, and contributing to a positive employee experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR principles, excellent communication skills, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Responsibilities:

Recruitment & Onboarding:

Assist with the full recruitment cycle, including posting job openings, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews.
Coordinate and facilitate new employee onboarding, ensuring a smooth and welcoming experience.
Prepare and process new hire paperwork accurately.

Employee Relations & Support:

Serve as a point of contact for employee inquiries regarding HR policies, benefits, and general HR-related matters.
Assist in resolving employee relations issues, providing support and guidance in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.
Foster a positive and inclusive work environment.

Benefits Administration:

Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Assist employees with benefits enrollment and answer benefits-related questions.
Process benefit changes and updates accurately.

HR Record Keeping & Compliance:

Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records, both physical and electronic, ensuring confidentiality and compliance.
Assist with compliance efforts related to federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO).
Prepare HR reports and data analysis as requested.

Payroll Support:

Assist with payroll processing by verifying timesheets, tracking leave, and ensuring accurate data for payroll submission.
Address payroll-related inquiries from employees.

Training & Development:

Support the coordination of employee training programs and professional development initiatives.
Track employee training records.
Policy Implementation:
Assist in the development, implementation, and communication of HR policies and procedures.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred; equivalent experience will be considered.
Minimum of 3 years of experience in an HR role.
Solid understanding of HR principles, practices, and employment laws.
Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Ability to handle confidential information with the utmost discretion and integrity.
Proactive, self-motivated, and able to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in the construction industry.
SHRM-CP or HRCI-PHR certification.
Knowledge of Wisconsin-specific employment laws.

Pay: $63,000.00 – $68,000.00 per year
