HR Specialist-Nursing Recruitment Jobs in Iowa City, IA at The University of Iowa
University of Iowa Health Care Department of Nursing is seeking an HR Specialist to be responsible for talent sourcing, screening, interviewing, and selection of professional and non-professional positions within the Department of Nursing; provide expertise on HR policies and procedures and contract implementation related to recruitment; and develop recruitment marketing plans and coordinate recruitment events.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Develop and maintain strong partnerships with key stakeholders (hiring managers)
Create job requisitions and subsequent workflow forms
Generate applicant pools by initiating requisitions to post new and vacant positions and prepare associated internal/external advertisements
Assist with the development of new or enhanced strategies to attract and engage applicants
Experience using social media and other platforms to leverage recruitment and develop employer brand
Assure compliance with all federal and state regulations throughout the recruitment/hiring process
Use the position management system to create positions as well as to activate/deactivate positions as needed
Review applicants and participate in the screening process to assure compliance with established standards and requirements
Assist with preparation offer letters
Prepare FTE requests and disseminate information to hiring officials to confirm FTE approval
Collaborate with support staff and hiring managers to schedule interviews
Provide expertise of institutional policies and guidance for interview questions, assuring compliance with applicable regulations
Collaborate with hiring officials to conduct reference checks
Initiate appointments in the workflow transaction system
Additional responsibilities as assigned
Participate and assist with planning of internal hiring events, community outreach and other external career fairs.

Required Qualifications:
A Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management or Business Administration or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Minimum one-year human resources experience with recruitment responsibility
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications
Desired Qualifications:
Previous high volume recruiting experience
Experience with applicant tracking systems
Experience in Human Resources and/or recruitment of Healthcare professionals
Professional in Human Resources Certification (PHR)
Working knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity policies
Knowledge of University of Iowa policies and procedures
