General Description
The purpose of this job is to assists with the daily operations of the department; primary duties span from the recruitment process to retirement.
This position works under general supervision, independently developing work methods and sequences.
Duties and Responsibilities
The functions listed below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this position. Management may assign additional functions related to the type of work of the position as necessary.
Assist with the employee recruitment and selection process.
Administer on-boarding process; assist with new hire orientation.
Process hiring related paperwork; scan and maintain employees’ records.
Input and maintain personnel information from identification to payroll deductions in the payroll system.
Answer employee inquiries.
Oversee County’s benefits administration including insurances, supplemental insurances, deferred compensation, and voluntary payroll deductions.
Explains human resources policies, procedures, laws, and standards to new and existing employees.
Perform various administration duties of the daily operation of the HR dept.
Prepares, maintains and disseminates a variety of program files, records and reports.
Performs related work as required.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Requires a Bachelor’s degree in business administration, human resources or related field, supplemented by two (2) years of progressively responsible experience in human resources, benefits administration, payroll or related work; or possession of any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Physical Demands
Performs sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time and involves exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a regular and recurring basis or sustained keyboard operations.

Special Certifications and Licenses
Prefers SPHR, PHR, or equivalent certification.
