GENERAL SUMMARY: The Human Resources Specialist, under the general supervision of the Human Resources Manager, will be primarily responsible for the recruitment process and onboarding of new employees; and will perform a variety of related administrative duties.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Required: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field and 3-5 years’ human resources experience; ability to exhibit a high degree of confidentiality; strong knowledge of employment law; proficiency in Microsoft Office, including working knowledge of spreadsheets/databases; prior experience with HRIS, applicant tracking system, and/or payroll software; experience operating standard office equipment; excellent organization, planning and prioritization skills; ability to easily interact with others in a friendly, professional manner; clear and effective written and verbal communication skills; strong attention to detail/accuracy; resourcefulness and initiative to learn new skills; ability to work independently; ability to maintain effective working relationships with physicians, staff, applicants, vendors and general public; and ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Preferred: Prior experience with UKG (Kronos) software. Prior experience in a medical setting.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Coordinates recruitments efforts. Posts and advertises job openings. Reviews resumés and applications. Consults with hiring manager/supervisor.
2. Schedules and performs interviews. Provides information on and explains employee benefit programs. May administer applicant assessments.
3. Completes reference checks and extends employment offers. Notifies candidates of hiring decisions and sends rejection letters. Keeps hiring manager/supervisor informed.
4. Participates in onboarding process. Prepares new hire orientation binders and files. Orients new employees to the organization and conducts benefit enrollment process. Takes staff photos for ID badge and staff directory. May arrange Epic training.
5. Enters and maintains applicant and employee records. Maintains personnel files. Processes employee status changes including separations, transfers, promotions, etc.
6. Creates and/or revises job descriptions, policies, and other employee communications. May prepare or proofread a variety of memos, letters, documents, reports, or forms.
7. Responds to applicant, employee and supervisor questions and inquiries. Maintains confidentiality regarding all employment, human resources, payroll, and business information.
8. May attend meetings, take notes, and/or follow through on action items.
9. Adheres to clinic and departmental policies and procedures including patient confidentiality.
10. Participates in clinic initiatives and training in a positive, collaborative manner.
11. Maintains courteous, professional relationships with vendors, visitors, physicians, and coworkers. Refers concerns to Human Resources Manager or Executive Director as appropriate.
12. Enhances professional growth and development by attending meetings, seminars, conferences, continuing education courses, etc.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.
ENVIRONMENTAL/WORKING CONDITIONS:
Office setting. Occasional exposure to communicable diseases and other conditions common to a clinic environment.
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS:
Varied activities including standing, sitting, walking, bending, and lifting. Fine motor coordination to use telephone and type at an acceptable rate of speed for varying periods of time. Occasional stress from workload.

Pay: $20.08 – $25.58 per hour
