Overview: We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Human Resources Generalist to join our team. This key position will support the HR department and play a critical role in ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees on the job site. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in HR functions and safety protocols, as well as the ability to manage a range of responsibilities, from employee relations to compliance with safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
HR Support: Assist the HR Manager with day-to-day operations, including employee relations, payroll preparation, and benefits administration.
Benefit Administration: Oversee employee benefits, including open enrollment, monthly benefit bills, new hire benefit orientations, and resolution of any payroll-related issues.
Employee Engagement: Collaborate with management to improve employee morale, productivity, and retention through targeted strategies.
Administrative Support: Provide clerical support, including drafting correspondence, organizing documents, and maintaining HR files.
Employee Guidance: Offer guidance to managers on attendance, performance, discipline, and other personnel issues.
Safety Program Management: Develop and manage a comprehensive safety program to ensure a safe, healthy, and accident-free work environment.
Safety Meetings & Training: Coordinate and lead monthly safety meetings for team leads and department heads. Deliver safety training and conduct job site safety walk-throughs and inspections.
Incident Management: Monitor and document any job site incidents, collaborating with management and insurance companies as necessary.
OSHA Compliance: Maintain OSHA logs, required documents, and ensure safety regulations are consistently followed.
Recordkeeping: Keep accurate records of safety-related incidents, propose corrective actions, and maintain training logs.
Safety Evaluations: Oversee safety evaluations for new equipment and processes, ensuring proper documentation of standard operating procedures.
Payroll Assistance: Assist with payroll processing, including tracking time and attendance, managing PTO requests, and generating reports.
Additional Duties: Perform other related HR and safety duties as required or assigned.
Essential Requirements:
In-depth knowledge of HR functions, including staffing, documentation, employee relations, and benefit administration.
Strong understanding of federal and state employment laws, as well as workers’ compensation and employment reporting.
Experience with recruiting, from posting job openings to conducting interviews and onboarding.
Familiarity with OSHA regulations is a plus.
Ability to advise management on HR and safety-related matters and provide actionable recommendations.
Qualification Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
2-5 years of experience in an HR role, preferably in a manufacturing or food industry setting.
Proven experience managing workers’ compensation programs in a manufacturing environment.
Experience working with safety programs and ensuring OSHA compliance is highly desirable.
Skills & Abilities:
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and respond to both verbal and written instructions.
High attention to detail and ability to follow through on tasks and ensure completion.

Pay: $26.00 – $30.00 per hour
