Reports to: HR Admin Manager
Location: NY
FLSA: Non-Exempt
Hourly Pay: $30 / $35 USD hourly
Key Responsibilities:
Payroll Processing
- Process weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly payroll for all employees
- Review timesheets, overtime, and other payroll inputs for accuracy and compliance
- Ensure correct application of deductions, taxes, benefits, and garnishments
- Prepare and submit payroll for approval, and ensure timely payroll disbursement
Compliance & Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate payroll records, reports, and documentation for audits and compliance
- Ensure payroll processing complies with federal, state, and local labor laws, including FLSA regulations
- Assist with audits and reporting requirements as needed
- Maintain confidentiality and security of payroll data
Employee Support & Communication
- Respond to employee inquiries regarding payroll, timesheets, deductions, and pay discrepancies
- Collaborate with HR and management to resolve payroll-related issues
- Educate employees on payroll processes, policies, and procedures
System & Process Improvement
- Maintain and update payroll system data, including employee additions, terminations, and changes
- Identify process improvements to streamline payroll operations and enhance efficiency
- Assist with testing and implementation of payroll system updates or new software
Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
- Associate degree in Accounting, Finance, HR, or related experience
- 2+ years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state workforce environment
- Experience with payroll software and timekeeping systems (e.g., ADP, Paycom, Kronos, Workday)
- Advanced Excel skills
