AMR is looking for a People Operations Specialist to join our HR team and help shape an exceptional employee experience from recruitment to offboarding—and every step in between.
As a People Operations Specialist, you’ll play a key role in ensuring that our people-focused processes are executed smoothly and efficiently across the full employee life cycle. You’ll support core areas such as recruitment and onboarding, benefits administration, payroll support, HR systems, and employee engagement—all while helping to maintain and elevate AMR’s strong organizational culture.
What You’ll Do
Recruitment & Onboarding
Post jobs, screen candidates, schedule interviews, and support hiring managers throughout the recruitment process.
Assist in developing and improving recruiting strategies and onboarding experiences.
Coordinate new hire onboarding plans, welcome communications, background checks, and HR system setup.
HR Systems & Payroll Support
Maintain and update employee records in our HRIS/Payroll system (Paylocity).
Serve as the go-to expert for employees and managers, providing support for system access, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
Own and champion HR systems, ensuring tools are fully utilized to support efficiency, streamline workflows, and enhance department processes.
Ensure accurate payroll inputs and report payroll changes.
Run and evaluate time tracking reports for accuracy and compliance.
Benefit Administration
Coordinate employee benefit enrollments and changes, including new hires, life events, and terminations.
Assist employees with benefit-related questions, support open enrollment, and reconcile invoices.
Partner with the Director of HR to promote understanding and engagement with our benefits offerings.
HR Operations & Employee Experience
Support employee engagement and recognition initiatives like milestone celebrations, awards, and social events.
Help maintain compliance with HR requirements, including I-9 audits, records management, and annual reporting.
Assist with special projects, meeting prep, and cross-functional coordination.
Serve as a resource for employees, answering questions and resolving issues related to benefits, payroll, and policies.
Requirements:

Proven ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of discretion, diplomacy, and professionalism.
Strong ethical standards and sound judgment.
Skilled at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic environment — adaptable and able to pivot as needed.
Creativity and compassion are highly valued and beneficial in this role.
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills.
Able to work independently while maintaining strong communication and coordination with team members.
Self-motivated and comfortable working remotely with minimal supervision.
A dedicated home workspace free from regular distractions.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and solid business math skills — all delivered with tact and professionalism.
Thrive in a fast-paced environment and contribute effectively to team goals.
Proficient in Microsoft 365 and SharePoint.
Your Background
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field.
3–5 years of experience in human resources preferred.
Prior recruiting experience is required.
Experience with Paylocity is a plus.
HR Certification (e.g., PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus.
Willingness to work overtime as needed to meet deadlines or project goals.
Preference given to candidates within commuting distance to the Lexington office to support occasional on-site tasks, though remote applicants will also be considered.
