ESSENTIAL DUTIES
Greet patients and check them in, confirm their medical histories, and any other relevant medical information.
Manages the practice’s schedule, makes appointments for patients, determines when the chiropractor is available.
Collects and processes payments from patients and insurance companies.
Controls the waiting room, attends to patient needs, and ensures the office runs on schedule.
Distributes educational information to patients as instructed by the chiropractor.
Maintains organized files on all patients.
Abides by HIPAA laws regarding sharing of personal medical information.
Answers the phones and addresses patient questions and concerns.
Keeps the office clean and presentable, doing spot cleaning throughout the day.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Must be personable with a professional demeanor and able to exercise courtesy and tact with all patients.
Must be familiar with HIPAA regulations and medical information sharing practices.
Must be willing to undergo further training for performing particular therapy treatments including muscle stimulation.
Must be willing to embrace a holistic health philosophy and be willing to explain to patients how chiropractic medicine fits into that philosophy.
Must be able to multitask.
Must be punctual and organized.
Must have strong communications skills and be able to relate to people from a variety of backgrounds.
Must be proficient with technology with fast typing skills and ability to learn medical and insurance billing software programs.
Must be a self-starter and able to work with minimal supervision with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Continuing education or University degree preferred.
Prefer experience working with people, preferably in an office or medical office environment.
Experience with chiropractic medicine preferred.
Anatomy and physiology knowledge is a big asset. As well as an understanding and interest in progressive health care and nutrition.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Time is spent at the office of a chiropractic practice and performing therapy on patients.
Must be willing to interact with people on a constant basis with a positive attitude.
Must be able to spend your work hours sitting, standing, and lifting no more than 25 pounds.
TYPICAL HOURS PER WEEK
Looking for 4 days/week. Approximately 20 -32 hours/week, ability to work flexible hours.
