Overview:
Vorwerk is seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented individual to join our team as a Recipe Developer. The role is mainly focused on local recipe development, testing and copy writing/proof-reading of recipes. Other responsibilities include the translation of international recipes for the Malaysian & Singaporean markets, preparing themed cooking classes, planning and implementation of recipe-led communications and marketing activation. This role is based at Bangsar, Kuala Lumpur.
Key Responsibilities:
- Development of quality, certified Thermomix® recipes for the recipe business based on market requirements and customer needs, which include research, recipe inputting, testing, assisting in food photography and food styling, proofreading and finalizing online and printed materials for both local and global projects.
- Support for themed recipe selection and Thermomix® exclusive cooking experiences locally, including creating and proofreading all required supporting documents.
- Responsible for all copy writing, editing and uploading of content to our digital platform, Cookidoo®
- Supporting overall marketing efforts, namely in line with the Customer Marketing communications plan, including brand collaborations, recipe support and editing copy.
- Translation of Vorwerk International recipes or master content for Malaysia & Singapore markets and subsequent testing and feedback. Where relevant, also providing input for Vorwerk.
- International recipe collection briefs, testing, and providing feedback on new modes and any new products or accessories.
- Promotion/marketing of themed recipe classes to position Thermomix® as a trusted, professional, and exciting ‘foodie’ brand and a modern must have appliance.
- In line with Vorwerk International strategy, define business targets, KPIs, quality standards and benchmarks for the Thermomix® recipe business within Malaysia & Singapore.
- Planning, development, and activation of a Cookidoo® communications plan in support of the overall Thermomix® marketing strategy.
- Research, planning and creation of original, recipe-led content for Cookidoo® thematic pages, articles, adding points of interest and value to the platform for subscribers.
- Activation of recipe collections and cookbooks, including video content.
Know-How & Technical Skills
- Professional chef/cooking experience is highly beneficial. It helps with the time management skills needed to test many recipes in a short space of time, to manage recipe-related projects, to assist at events which require fast, accurate cooking (like content days with celebrity chefs).
- Excellent copywriting, copy editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong Microsoft office skills such as Excel and Word.
- Ability to learn new software quickly.
- Previous experience assisting with food styling and photoshoots to deliver polished and high quality assets will be preferred.
- Good project management skills is a plus.
- Ability to translate recipes from English to Mandarin language.
Key Requirements
- 3-5 years of work experience preferably in a cooking environment (F&B, test kitchen, media, meal kits or similar)
- Knowledge and passion for food and cooking is a must.
- Willingness to try any foods.
- Education background in Culinary Arts, or related field would be an advantage.
- Ability to manage work schedules and deadlines with responsibility for delivering projects on time.
- Good command of the English language. Fluency in Mandarin language (read and write) is a must.
