Role Description The Student Support Officer is a full-time, hybrid role based in Kampala, with flexibility for some work from home. The role involves providing day-to-day support to students, responding to inquiries, and guiding learners through administrative and academic processes. The Student Support Officer will help resolve student issues, offer basic technical support related to university systems, and ensure a positive student experience through timely and professional communication. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate student records, coordinating with academic and administrative departments, and contributing to student orientation and engagement activities. The role also requires proactive monitoring of student needs, identifying areas for improvement, and assisting in the development of support initiatives that enhance student success and retention.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Interpersonal Skills and Customer Service abilities to support and engage with a diverse student population.
  • Candidates should possess clear and professional Communication skills, both written and verbal, for responding to student inquiries and collaborating with staff.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to interpret student data, identify trends, and recommend improvements to support services.
  • Candidates should possess basic Technical Support skills to assist students with university platforms, online portals, and other digital tools.
  • Additional beneficial qualifications include experience in student services or education administration, proficiency with common office software and student information systems, strong organizational and time-management skills, and the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.
  • A relevant diploma or degree in education, social sciences, administration, or a related field is preferred, along with a commitment to equity, inclusion, and learner-centered support.
