Role Summary
The Farm Operations & Systems Officer will be responsible for building operational structure, improving workflows, maintaining accurate records, managing reconciliation processes, and developing efficient operating systems for the farm.
This is not just a field operations role. The ideal candidate must be highly skilled in spreadsheets, operational coordination, process mapping, SOP development, reporting, reconciliation, and creating systems that improve accountability and efficiency across farm operations.
The role is critical to helping Orange Farm transition from informal operations into a structured and scalable agricultural business.
Core Responsibilities
Operational Systems Development
– Build and improve the farm’s operational systems and workflows
– Design operational structures that improve accountability and execution
– Develop and maintain farm operating processes and internal controls
– Help create a disciplined operational culture across the farm
– Support management in building scalable farm operations
Workflow Mapping & SOP Development
– Map operational workflows across:
– Crop production
– Greenhouse operations
– Inventory management
– Procurement
– Harvest handling
– Sales and distribution
– Develop clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for farm activities
– Document operational processes and update them regularly
– Identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements
Spreadsheet Management & Reporting
– Build and manage operational spreadsheets and trackers
– Maintain structured records for:
– Inputs
– Plants
– Harvests
– Labor
– Expenses
– Sales
– Inventory
– Productivity
– Create operational dashboards and reporting templates
– Generate daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports
– Ensure data accuracy and consistency across records
Financial Tracking & Reconciliation
– Track operational expenses and farm-related transactions
– Perform daily and weekly reconciliation of:
– Inventory usage
– Input purchases
– Produce sales
– Farm expenses
– Petty cash
– Investigate discrepancies and maintain accurate records
– Support operational budgeting and cost monitoring
Inventory & Resource Control
– Monitor inventory movement and usage
– Maintain accurate stock records for farm inputs and materials
– Track wastage, losses, and operational inefficiencies
– Support procurement planning and supply coordination
Operational Coordination
– Coordinate daily operational activities with farm workers and supervisors
– Ensure operational activities are executed according to schedule
– Follow up on pending tasks and operational bottlenecks
– Improve communication and coordination between operational units
Performance Monitoring
– Track farm productivity and operational KPIs
– Monitor execution against operational plans
– Prepare performance reports for management review
– Support data-driven decision making
Requirements
Education
– HND or Bachelor’s Degree in:
– Agriculture
– Agribusiness
– Operations Management
– Business Administration
– Accounting
– Data Management
– Or related fields
Experience
– 2–5 years experience in:
– Operations coordination
– Farm administration
– Operational systems
– Reconciliation
– Process documentation
– Or related operational roles
– Experience in agriculture or production operations is a strong advantage

Salary
– ₦150,000 – ₦200,000
