Amentum is seeking a Human Resources Manager located in Hawthorne, NV. Reporting to a Human Resources Director with a dotted line to the Program Manager, this experienced incumbent will provide broad overall human resources and employee/labor relations management services on behalf of a specific program or business sector. This job description outlines the principal duties and in no way states or implies these are the only duties to be performed in this position.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Partner with business line management in the achievement of business goals, strategy and initiatives.
Develop, recommend, and administer Human Resources policies and procedures covering all areas of Human Resources such as wage and salary administration, training, employee relations, benefits, and (EEO)/ (AA) programs to support the program in compliance with corporate philosophy, culture and strategic goals.
Support new business development requirements to support business goals and objectives.
Manage effective relationships and communicate with management at all levels and serve as a coach to HR Team, Managers and Front-Line Leaders.
Develop, implement and monitor results of the Company’s Learning and Development training program and establish goals and objectives for these programs. Deliver training in person or virtually as needed.
Lead and manage HR Team including assignment and monitoring of work, development, communication, reward, and recognition and managing overall performance.
Manage the investigation of employee complaints and disputes; recommend and implement disciplinary action. Work with Corporate legal counsel as appropriate.
Implement processes for internal communication of HR related information.
Enforce a safety culture whereby all employees have the responsibility for continuously developing and maintaining a safe work environment.
Manage relocation and incentive payment requirements when authorized.
Oversee the administration of the performance management and base compensation programs and procedures for the site employees as outlined by corporate procedure. Identify current compensation trends in the marketplace.
Forecast and analyze workforce planning data and execute staffing strategy in conjunction with corporate objectives.
Ensure proper administration and dissemination of information related to onboarding new hires to include all required new hire paperwork, employee benefits enrollment including healthcare, 401k, retirement planning, etc.
Ensure accurate processing of all documents necessary for implementation of the various benefits programs and maintenance of records as required for compliance with ERISA, COBRA, E-Verify and other applicable regulations.
Promote a positive work culture by driving team engagement initiatives and employee advocacy.
Perform all other position-related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
Bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field, 8 years relevant experience with at least 2-3 years of management experience.
Strong knowledge of federal and local employment laws and regulations.
Strong leadership skills and capable of working in a multi-cultural environment.
Ability to multi-task, teach and implement new programs/procedures and flexible in a fast-paced environment.
Demonstrated experience in hiring, onboarding and developing employees
Strong knowledge of unionized labor management principles.
Demonstrated experience in assessing, investigating and resolving a variety of employee relations issues.
Must be 18 years or older and obtain and maintain a valid State driver’s license.
Must be computer literate in common software applications and able to operate general office equipment.
Must be willing and able to work in an industrial environment that is in close proximity to and/or in a munitions demilitarization facility.
Must be a United States or naturalized citizen able to obtain and maintain Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD) site access.
Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
Must be self-motivated and detail oriented.
Must possess the ability to formulate reports, procedures, and written instructions.
Must be able to operate a computerized based terminal and literate in common software Apps, to include WorkDay, ADP, and CostPoint.
Desired Qualifications:
Strong knowledge of employment laws and regulations.
Demonstrated experience providing leadership and guidance to various diverse employee groups.
Demonstrated experience in assessing and resolving a variety of employee relations issues.
Previous experience using Workday and EV6.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to coordinate and prioritize projects and adapting to changes as they occur are highly desirable.
HR Certification preferred.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
Typical office environment with no unusual hazards, occasional lifting to 20 pounds, constant sitting while using the computer terminal, constant use of sight abilities while reviewing documents, constant use of speech/hearing abilities for communication, constant mental alertness, must possess planning/organizing skills, and must be able to work under deadlines. Occasional travel to remote company work locations.
SAFETY SENSITIVE:
This position is designated as non-safety sensitive position and is subject to the requirements of the HWAD Medical Surveillance Plan and Matrix and the HWAD A&D Program. As a condition of employment, candidates and incumbents must favorably complete a personnel security investigation, urinalysis testing, respiratory screening, and must meet and maintain personnel suitability and reliability requirements established by the Hawthorne Army Depot Commander and HWAD O&M contract requirements.
